Our Mission
TAB’s mission is to provide teens in the community with support through educational and entertaining events, opportunities, and resources, while closing the achievement gap and preparing teens for a successful and fulfilling life.
The vision for TAB membership is for every member to be an effective leader. The goal for every TAB member is to lead or facilitate a library program or initiative.
How to Join TAB
The standard application period will run from July through September. Applications will be made available both digitally on the library’s website and physically at Baright Public Library. Teens who move to the Ralston area outside of the standard application period and who are interested in joining TAB will be referred to the Staff Advisor to apply.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
Expectations of TAB Members
-
Behave in a respectful and inclusive manner
-
Act as model patron, complying with the Code of Conduct in the LIBRARY'S RULES OF CONDUCT available on the library website
-
Work collaboratively with peers and staff
Failure to meet expectations may result in removal from TAB.
Requirements
TAB members will help plan, implement, promote, and attend teen library programs and events. Members will be expected to attend monthly meetings to organize these programs and to offer input on other library services and materials. Members will also act as ambassadors for the library by getting their friends involved, sharing information about upcoming events with friends and teachers, and bringing back input and suggestions from the community.
Our TAB group meets once a month. We want this group to not only be a fun social event, but to actively shape and inform the upcoming teen programs and activities that the library will provide.
